Although symptoms such as flashing lights, sensitivity or redness may indicate the presence of a serious vision disorder, other vision problems have no warning signs at all, and they can rob you of your sight. With most forms of glaucoma, symptoms do not appear until some vision has been permanently lost. Annual eye examinations can detect diseases in their early stages, and proper treatment can prevent further loss of vision.
Disease and Injuries
Diagnosis, management and medical treatment of ocular diseases and injuries are handled daily in our offices. Our doctors are all licensed to prescribe therapeutic pharmaceutical agents in the treatment of ocular disease. We now have cutting-edge instruments to assist us in the diagnosis and management of glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and other retinal degenerations or injuries. If eye surgery or other specialized testing is needed, a prompt referral will be made to the appropriate medical specialist.
Children's Vision
Examination of a child's visual status often requires special equipment and a special approach. Every effort is made to make your child feel comfortable in our offices. In this manner, disorders such as lazy eye, crossed eyes, reduced visual acuity, and reading problems can be accurately determined. We strongly urge that all children have a thorough, professional eye examination by the time they are three years old. If you suspect any problems, however, your child's vision can be assessed at any age.
